If your child has been diagnosed with having autism at a young age they can qualify for an early intervention program before they enter school. The program can be home based, hospital based or organization based, sometimes the Autism specialist with work one on one with your child and sometimes they will want you involved so they can teach you techniques to use with your exceptional child. Early intervention can result in parents having improved attitudes about themselves and their child, improved information and skills for teaching their child, and more allow time for leisure and employment.
